Sizewell C. Lead the Way on Nuclear

Help shape the future of low-carbon energy as our Resource and Capability Manager

Location: Based In either London, Suffolk, Gloucester or Bristol 2-3 days a week in the office (with occasional travel required)

Contract: Permanent, full time

Salary: Circa £70,000 per annum, plus benefits + bonus

Benefits include:

• Annual Leave: 28 days per annum, increasing to 30 days after 5 years, plus bank holidays

Lets talk about the role…

As Resource and Capability Manager, you’ll play a critical role in building the operational organisation for Sizewell C. Reporting to the Operational Capability Programme Manager, you’ll develop and deliver strategies to ensure the right people, training, and governance are in place for safe and reliable operation. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of clean energy and help shape one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects.

What would be expected of you:

• Develop strategies for organisational growth and capability development
• Lead the creation of a high-performing team to deliver resource and capability objectives
• Drive training governance and succession planning across Pre-Operations
• Partner with stakeholders across SZC, EDF Nuclear Operations, and the Nuclear Skills Alliance
• Represent operational requirements within the wider SZC project and with regulators
• Oversee budgets, schedules, and KPIs for resource and capability milestones

Our ideal candidate will bring…

• 3-5 years experience in this role or a similar role, ideally within a large project/complex environment
• Experience building and growing large teams in complex, fast paced environments
• Strong background in organisational development and change management
• Ability to influence and challenge stakeholders effectively
• Excellent project management skills, including budgeting and planning
• Resilient, confident, and collaborative with exceptional communication skills
• Desirable but not essential: Knowledge of nuclear operational training and capability requirements

The Sizewell C team is one of the most exciting and largest new megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. We have begun constructing a 3.2-gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast in the East of England replicating, wherever possible, the design used for Hinkley Point C, another nuclear power station being built in Somerset.

When built, Sizewell C will be one of the largest power stations to operate in the UK. The power station will generate low carbon electricity for at least 60 years, supplying over 6 million homes and supporting around 7% of the UK’s current electricity needs.

Our vision is to Lead The Way On Nuclear. We want Sizewell C to define what good leadership for the nuclear industry and British infrastructure looks like and deliver on it. We understand the feats of organisation, logistics, collaboration and imagination that building nuclear requires. We are building for the next generation for their home-grown energy, energy price stability and ultra-low carbon power in abundance. We are the first nuclear power station in the UK to be funded under the Regulated Asset Base funding model (RAB). Our largest shareholder is the UK Government, alongside equity partners La Caisse, Centrica, EDF and Amber Infrastructure.
