Job Description Summary
Provides quality assessment and education support utilizing a computer-based delivery system for a diverse customer base that encompasses illiterate to post-secondary levels of education. Responsible for pre/post testing of customers and monitoring progress through one-on-one interaction. Increases awareness and use of the Assessment & Learning Center through printed advertising, in-person presentations, email, and phone conversations. Actively support programs and services delivered under the Employment Services umbrella to meet department and division goals.
Primary office location is the Greeley campus. May provide coverage in South County locations as needed. Reliable, predictable attendance within department business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. This position is in person and not eligible for telework arrangements.

Job Description
What you will do
Administrative - 45%
- Enter customer users into the applicable assessment system.
- Ensure paperwork is received and accurate for all Center fees including tests, remediation, training, and other charged services.
- Administer and oversee all assessments and testing conducted in the Assessment & Learning Center to include High School Equivalency lessons, pre/post assessments for the Test for Adult Basic Education, and other vocational preparation.
- Score assessments, interprets results and provides information to the customer, program participant’s case manager, or business as it pertains to their individual request.
- Maintain accurate and confidential files by entering Assessment & Learning Center program participant’s information and their activity and progress into a data management system.
- Review and evaluate participants progress and status and track results.
- Design curricula in multiple subject areas to meet the diagnostic needs of the Assessment & Learning Center customers.
- Collect and compile success stories, writing engaging narratives, and designing newsletters to highlight achievements.
- Develop internal reporting systems, engagement strategies, referrals, and processes.
- Develop and manage a toolkit for job seekers and program participants to navigate available services and benefits of employment and training resources.
Customer Service - 45%
- Provide instruction and support in the Assessment & Learning Center to a diverse population of customers that includes at-risk youth, court mandated participants, and professional job seekers.
- Provide information to customers on training opportunities that improve basic skill level on a computer-based delivery system.
- Assist customers in using the training and tutorials offered in the Center or through remote locations.
- Provide vocational advising and recommendations to customers by interpreting assessment tests conducted in the Center.
- Participate in or instruct workshops conducted through the Assessment & Learning Center using proven teaching methods.
- Facilitate individual appointments or group workshops to determine suitability for the employment and training programs offered by ESWC.
- Assist clients and other division staff in translation of both verbal and written communication in Spanish.
Collaboration - 10%
- Work directly with case managers and outside referring agencies by providing information on participant’s level of ability, offering recommendations for the type of training needed for advancement.
- Increase community knowledge and use of Assessment & Learning Center services and products throughout Weld County by developing partnership relationships with school officials, employers, case managers, and other department staff who work with or refer customers.
- Collaborate with internal program navigators and case managers connecting individuals to employment and training programs and services.
Required Qualifications
Required Education
Experience Qualifications
- 2 years of full-time business or clerical experience in an office environment that required advanced customer service and working with the public.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor's Degree degree in education or a human services related field.
Preferred Experience
- 1 year of full-time work experience instructing or training older youth and adults in a classroom or workshop setting.
- Experience working in a human services environment.
- Knowledge of workforce assistance programs.

- Candidate must possess the advance knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Candidate must possess the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and department policies and procedures.
- Candidate must possess the ability to write correspondence.
- Candidate must possess the ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small, and large group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
- Candidate must possess the ability to apply math concepts and calculations in the work environment.
- Candidate must possess the ability to apply common sense to problem solve in a work environment.
- Candidate must possess the ability to work independently and handle high-stress situations, prioritizing competing tasks or responsibilities in a fast paced, high volume, and ever-changing work environment.
- Ability to keyboard at 35 words per minute.
Licenses and Certifications
- Candidate must pass criminal background check prior to employment start date. Required
- Candidate must pass Department of Human Services background checks prior to employment start date.
- Driving is essential in this position.
- Candidate must have a valid Driver’s License and Liability Insurance Upon Hire Required
- Candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) evaluation and if hired, will be subject to continuous monthly MVR monitoring throughout employment. Candidate must provide own transportation and be willing to travel as needed to meet the essential functions of the position. Required
This position is non-exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay.
