Overview
Key Responsibilities
Role is Hybrid, working Mondays and Tuesdays on site in New Haven, CT with rest of the days being remote.
Clinical Operations & Workflow Support
Work closely with the Clinical Operations Manager on operational priorities and strategic initiatives.
Serve as a supervisor for surgical scheduling team to assist with any concerns or resource needs to maintain efficient workflow and productivity.
Serve as a liaison between physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, scheduling teams, and cross-functional partners to resolve operational issues and support service needs.
Monitor and maintain standardized workflows related to patient communication, referral processing, documentation requirements, and follow-up coordination.
Identify and escalate clinical workflow concerns, delays, or gaps in processes; assist Clinical Operations Manager to implement corrective actions.
Support onboarding and integration of new clinical providers, including aligning clinic templates, workflow expectations, and required systems access.
Provider Scheduling & Coverage Coordination
Manage and update provider clinic templates, call schedules, OR block schedules, and changes in clinical availability.
Facilitate communication of schedule updates, emergent changes, and coverage adjustments to all affected stakeholders.
Credentialing & Compliance
Support credentialing and re-credentialing for faculty, fellows, and advanced practice providers, ensuring timely submission of all required documentation to Yale Medicine, Yale New Haven Health, and external regulatory bodies.
Track and monitor compliance with mandatory training, annual competencies, licensure renewals, and specialty-specific certifications.
Ensure clinical providers meet all institutional and departmental policy requirements for clinical practice and billing compliance.
Required Skills and Abilities
1. Proven experience in clinical operations or healthcare administration.
2. Familiarity with clinical workflows, medical terminology, scheduling systems, and provider credentialing processes.
3. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
4. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
5. Proficiency in Epic EHR system, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite (strong Excel reporting).
Preferred Skills and Abilities
1. Proven experience in a surgical specialty department or other high-acuity services.
2. Proven experience onboarding processes.
3. Proven experience in an academic medical setting.

Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
