Job Description

The System Security Architect will define and lead the security architecture strategy for Rockwell Automation's industrial automation platforms. This role focuses on embedding cybersecurity principles into system-level designs, ensuring compliance with global standards while enabling innovation in secure, resilient architectures. The position requires collaboration with senior leadership, product development teams, and research groups to ensure security is integral from concept through deployment.

You will report to the Hiring Manager and will work in a hybrid schedule in Prague, Czech Republic.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Architectural Leadership:
    • Define and maintain system-level security architecture for industrial automation platforms.
    • Develop security concepts and allocate security requirements across hardware, firmware, and software components.
  • Strategic Influence:
    • Partner with CTO leadership and teams to shape technology roadmaps for cybersecurity and secure system design.
    • Provide architectural guidance for new product development and enhancements to existing products.
  • Standards & Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to international cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443, ISO 27001, IEC 15408).
    • Represent Rockwell Automation in standards committees and industry forums.
  • Innovation & Integration:
    • Incorporate emerging security technologies such as zero trust, containerization, orchestration, and edge/cloud security into architectural frameworks.
    • Evaluate and integrate secure networking protocols and threat mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration & Mentorship:
    • Act as a subject matter expert for system security architecture within the Rockwell Automation.
    • Mentor engineers and researchers on secure design principles and best practices.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity architecture for industrial automation or related domains.
  • Proven expertise in IEC 62443 and related standards.
  • Legal authorization to work in Prague, Czech Republic.
  • Proficient in technical English (written and spoken).

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Experience applying security solutions to embedded and edge devices.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems and secure networking fundamentals.
  • Complete comprehensive threat assessments and risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of zero trust concepts, containerization, and orchestration techniques.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and familiarity with Rust or C#.
  • Demonstrated to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Communication knowledge: published papers, conference presentations, and partner engagement.
