The Bench Technician repairs, installs, and replaces PC board components of slot machines. The Bench Technician will maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the various electronic gaming devices, manufacturers updates, new machines, and repair equipment and will apply this knowledge to the ongoing slot maintenance program set forth by management. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
2. Establish a thorough familiarity with all test equipment and support equipment including, but not limited to bill validators, ticket printers, currency counters, kiosk parts and assemblies, and slot machine parts and assemblies.
3. Troubleshoot and repair all electronic equipment, including slot machines, bill validators, signs, ticket printers and other gaming-related devices. Troubleshoot and repair all circuitry and electrical components.
4. Maintain parts and electronic components inventory of bench repair area.
5. Keep slot shop clean and all working areas safe.
6. Maintain current knowledge of casino related equipment, support equipment, new games, systems, and modifications to existing equipment.
7. Keep accurate and up-to-date records of completed work.
8. Comply with all signatory requirements.
9. Comply with all Slot Department policies and provide constructive feedback to Slot Department management on necessary changes and improvements.
10. Follow all safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
11. Maintain positive and effective working relationships with other Team Members, management, Guests and other departments.
12. Maintain working knowledge of Title 31 requirements and internal control policies.
13. Responsible for maintaining the Hazard Communication Standard for your area.
14. Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals. Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when using or dispensing chemicals.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
2. Two (2) years of related experience.
3. Knowledge of electronics. Ability to read schematics. Ability to trouble shoot to the component level on video monitors and PC boards using electronic equipment.
4. Working knowledge of the setup of all slot and video poker games and player tracking systems is preferred.
5. Basic math skills.
6. Basic computer skills, including experience working with Microsoft Office and Windows.
7. Ability to multi-task.
8. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and management in both written and verbal form.
9. Must be at least 21 years of age.
10. Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
2. Ability to stand and walk for the prolonged time periods.
3. Ability to move up to 50 lbs. using a hand truck with or without assistance.
4. Ability to hear radio transmissions and communicate clearly on radio. Must be able to wear an earpiece with radio.
5. Have the manual dexterity necessary to operate small and large hand tools.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically conducted in the slot machine shop in areas with a 3 ft. wide access.
Work may also be conducted in the casino, which may be hot, cold, noisy, and in the
presence of secondhand smoke. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of an assigned area. Team Member must possess proper safety training in the use of chemicals. Frequent contact with fellow Team Members and occasional contact with Guests is standard.
