Role Overview

The Client Insights Vice President plays a strategic role in delivering actionable insights and consultative solutions for a major tobacco client headquartered in Richmond, VA. This position focuses on strengthening relationships, expanding engagement beyond current workstreams, and uncovering new opportunities for growth. The role combines deep analytical thinking with strong relationship-building, proven selling capabilities, and executive presence to influence client strategies across marketing, pricing, and retail execution.

This role requires on-site visits to the client location in Richmond, VA 2–3 times per week.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strengthen client relationships and expand engagement beyond current scope; act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
  • Build new relationships within the client organization to broaden Circana’s influence and uncover new opportunities.
  • Drive business development by identifying growth opportunities and leading proposal development; apply proven selling capabilities to secure expanded engagements.
  • Leverage Circana data and strong analytical capabilities to uncover impactful insights and inform business strategies that drive client performance.
  • Deliver insights that address key marketing issues such as new product launches, line extensions, pricing, trade spend, and retail execution using Circana’s Liquid Data® platform and extensive data assets including Point-of-Sale (POS), Frequent Shopper Program (FSP), Supply Chain, Household Panel, and Experian demographic data.
  • Promote, develop, and deliver analytics-based syndicated and custom business solutions in partnership with HQ subject matter experts.
  • Assess when and how to customize solutions for unique client business issues; recommend long-term changes to methodology and approach.
  • Serve as a client advocate and liaison to Circana’s Product Management, Strategic Analytics, Consumer & Shopper, Media Solutions, In-Store Solutions, Technology, and Operations teams.
  • Provide industry thought leadership and represent Circana at client and industry forums.
  • Lead strategic problem-solving and innovation initiatives to drive client adoption of Circana solutions.
  • Manage complex projects and ensure alignment with client objectives while fostering continuous improvement in processes and deliverables.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience with a strong understanding of manufacturer and retailer dynamics, having worked in one or more of the following:
    • Retail (any channel), Consumer Packaged Goods, Brokerage.
  • Tobacco industry experience required.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, executive presence, and proven selling capabilities to expand engagement and secure new opportunities.
  • Experience leveraging Circana data and analytics to uncover insights and inform business strategies.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute client relationship strategies and architect business proposals that integrate Circana’s services and solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in driving C-level engagements across core CPG issues (brand development, category management, marketing).
  • Ability to quickly assess complex client issues, identify root causes, and translate vision into actionable solutions.
  • Track record of creating and implementing innovative solutions that drive revenue growth and deliver measurable impact.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.

Location: This position is based in Richmond, VA (Hybrid) and requires on-site presence at the client offices 2–3 days per week.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $180,000 – $212,000. This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
