Position Summary

Washington Regional Medical System, Northwest Arkansas' only locally owned, locally governed, not-for-profit hospital and health system is seeking a dialysis based Advanced Practice Provider to join our Washington Regional Renal Specialists of Northwest Arkansas Clinic. Renal Specialists of NWA is comprised of 6 Nephrologists and 3 Advanced Practice Providers.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses
  • Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests
  • Determine, plan, and provide appropriate treatment
  • Prescribe and dispense medications
  • Document and maintain electronic medical records
  • Educate and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors
  • Request consultation or referral with other health care providers
  • Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects
  • Travel to dialysis units within northwest Arkansas

Qualifications

  • Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Adult/Gerontology Primary Care or Family Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program
  • Licensure and Certifications: Advanced Practice Provider license, BLS, and national certification required
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in a previous clinical role required. Previous experience in Nephrology preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
