The Facility Engineer responsible for managing and maintaining the infrastructure and facilities of the organization. This role includes overseeing building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and equipment to ensure optimal operation and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Coordinate and manage outside contractors and vendors for infrastructure and equipment repair. This includes soliciting bids, preparing, and administering contracts, and overseeing contractor activities to ensure compliance with project requirements and company standard.
  • Coordinates and monitors the needs for building maintenance from property lease holder and supports all needed shared utility interactions with division in cooperation with Maintenance Manager.
  • Assists other engineers with the planning and implementation of the layouts of plant, office, and production equipment to provide the maximum utilization of facilities and efficiency of production.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for infrastructure equipment, ensuring tasks are performed at recommended intervals.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all firefighting equipment, fire protection systems, and security systems, addressing any deficiencies promptly.
  • Inspect all plant areas routinely to identify and eliminate fire, safety, health, and security hazards.
  • Skilled in operating and repairing HVAC systems, including installation, operation, and maintenance of all heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and components.
  • Capable of monitoring and maintaining low-pressure boiler systems.
  • Monitor and maintain plant chilled water systems to ensure optimal performance, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical distribution equipment by inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear. This involves troubleshooting issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and adhering to safety standards and regulations to minimize downtime and prevent electrical hazards.
  • Manage sprinkler system maintenance and repair including diesel fire pump.
  • Installation operation and maintenance of all utilities systems and components for electricity, water, steam, gas, oil and compressed air systems.
  • Manage total Continuous Improvement and capital projects activities with a plan schedule for timely completion.
  • Manage and present process and equipment design proposals for discussion and evaluation with management, customer, vendors, trade organizations and code groups.

Your Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or any combination of education and/or experience.
  • Working knowledge of Main Electrical Systems, Mechanical Components, Natural Gas Systems, Plumbing, Welding, Boilers, Air Compressors & Dryers, Chilled Water Systems, HVAC Systems and Controls, Roofing Systems, Lighting Systems, Sprinkler Systems, Diesel Fire Pumps.
  • Combination of advanced technical knowledge, project management skills, leadership abilities, and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements to effectively manage and optimize facility operations.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge and aptitude is a must.

Salary range is $68,000-$88,000 commensurate with experience and bonus eligible.
