Responsibilities

Nurses on this unit care for patients

with dysrhythmias, heart failure, myocardial

infarction and other cardiac conditions. We also

care for patients, pre- and post-procedure, who

require intervention in the cardiac catheterization

lab (e.g., coronary intervention, ablation and

device deployment), and post open heart

surgery patients.

make us stronger, smarter and safer. We offer

ongoing in-services, formal classes, self-directed

educational opportunities, as well as one-on-one,

procedure-specific bedside education.

The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

The Northside Hospital Staff Registered Professional Nurse manages patient care of an assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of Northside Hospital. Additionally, the practice of all professional nurses at Northside Hospital reflects the values of collaboration, communication, coordination, integration, and empowerment.

Qualifications

  1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  2. Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
  3. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

  1. BSN degree
  2. Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  3. Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
  4. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.

Work Hours:

7pm-7am
