Part Time Professor, Fashion Marketing and Management

SCAD Atlanta seeks a highly skilled part-time professor to prepare students in its fashion marketing and management program for rewarding careers. You'll also model strong leadership, foster a positive learning environment, and fulfill department duties.

As a fashion marketing and management professor, you will join a faculty of professionals who are well-versed in the industry and who have collaborated with renowned brands, including Alexander McQueen, Calvin Klein, and Saks Fifth Avenue, among others. You will guide students as they master new markets, technologies, and trends to become the next generation of leaders in fashion. Your responsibilities will include modeling leadership and fulfilling teaching assignments as determined by the contact hours listed in the Employment Agreement, including syllabus design, submission, and approval; midterm grade reviews; and availability for office hours, extra help sessions, learning opportunities, and field trips.

In this role, you will conduct course and program assessments, meet grading and academic documentation requirements, and record attendance for each class per academic policies and regulations. You will support academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts by contributing to the university’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. You will attend on-ground and virtual activities such as admission events, faculty councils, exhibitions, and more. Among other duties, you may participate in curriculum assessment and development meetings, accreditation support, institutional effectiveness meetings, or other publicity assignments. The person in this role must adhere to all university policies.

A part-time professor is not guaranteed a specific number or title of any course(s). Assignments for classes are on an as-needed basis.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Terminal degree in fashion or a related discipline
  • Experience in or knowledge of relevant professions

Preferred qualifications:

  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level
