Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our BI Report Developer position. As an integral member of our Information Systems team, the Report Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of mission-critical business intelligence (BI) reports. Working with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders, this role participates in the gathering and documentation of reporting requirements to meet business needs with real time interactive reports or dashboards. Using extensive knowledge in business intelligence, database structures and the technical aspect of BI tools this position will design, develop, test, and implement reports and dashboards that utilize the underlying data sets, and any other data stores identified. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • This is an on-site position
  • Participate in business discovery activities to gather required reporting and dashboard requirements
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and decide timeline to accomplish
  • Create relationships between data and develop tabular and other multidimensional data models
  • Converting legacy reports to Microsoft Power BI solutions
  • Transition developed reports and dashboards to the Support team
  • Provide support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards for all users
  • Implement and utilize appropriate configuration management and change controls
  • Provide technical assistance and cross training to other team members
  • Provide training and assistance to users for generation of adhoc reports
  • Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes
  • Must be able to perform duties with moderate to low supervision
  • Create dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI
  • Chart creation and data documentation explaining algorithms, parameters, models, and relations
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI scripts and perform detailed analytics
  • Perform DAX queries and functions in Power BI
  • Work with users and management at all levels for performance improvements and suggestions

Qualifications

  • Power BI Administrator experience required
  • BS in computer science, IT, or related field
  • Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts (relational and dimensional)
  • Extensive Microsoft Excel experience (for data analysis)
  • Familiarity with BI Technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau)
  • Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Understanding of data integration issues (validation and cleaning), familiarity with complex data and structures
  • Requires strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Programming / scripting experience and knowledge of software development life cycle is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adjusting quickly to changing priorities
  • Excellent customer service skills
