Job Title: Advanced Quality Engineer

Job Description

The Advanced Quality Engineer is responsible for leading new product launches, developing and documenting Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documents, and ensuring successful Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions. This role involves training operational teams on new processes, leading problem-solving efforts, performing process capability studies, and ensuring adherence to customer-specific quality requirements. Key duties also include supporting continuous improvement and working with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure familiarity with customer-specific Quality System requirements.
  • Develop Gauge R&R and oversee new gauge development.
  • Act as liaison with external parties (customers and suppliers) on matters relating to the quality system.
  • Lead and participate in APQP and new product launch activities, creating and updating process Control Plans and FMEA as needed.
  • Interface with Program Management, Quality Engineers/Auditors, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Support IATF16949 initiatives.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in PPAP, APQP, and quality engineering.
  • Strong skills in customer interaction.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a quality engineer.
  • Experience in creating control plans, process flow, and FMEA.
  • Gauge R&R experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kendallville, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $44.00/hr.
