PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a Driver for the BBC Kyrgyzstan bureau, you will be responsible for transporting employees, contingent workers, and guests or visitors to and from locations in a safe and timely fashion, observing road and driving regulations at all times.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

• Collect and deliver equipment, costumes, props, and other items as required by the business
• Conduct daily safety checks and inspections of vehicles along with any maintenance and cleaning of vehicles
• Ensure vehicles have the appropriate registration, re-registration, removal from registration, and technical inspections to be compliant with country laws
• Update necessary mileage or other logs
• Complete minor repairs which do not require special skills or equipment, including wheel replacement

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type
• Proven experience as a driver with a clean driving record and a knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations
• Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs
• Strong time management and organisational skills with a professional and courteous attitude when dealing with employees and visitors
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings or weekends if required
• Basic record-keeping skills for mileage and fuel logs

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

• Experience driving different vehicle types (manual and automatic)
• Previous experience as a professional driver or chauffeur
• Customer service experience
• Multilingual communication skills
• Basic first aid training
