Position Description
The Software QA Analyst supports the quality, stability, and performance of Applied Medical’s digital products by validating requirements, conducting structured testing, and collaborating with cross functional engineering teams. The Software QA Analyst plays a key role in the software development lifecycle by identifying defects, improving test coverage, and ensuring reliable web and mobile application releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product owners and software engineers to review acceptance criteria and validate that functional requirements are met before release.
- Conduct functional testing and regression testing for web applications and mobile products to ensure feature accuracy and uncover defects.
- Develop and lead coordinated smoke testing activities to validate core functionality prior to deployments.
- Identify, document, and track defects using established QA tools, providing clear steps, expected results, and impact.
- Perform exploratory testing to detect edge cases, usability issues, and gaps in requirement coverage.
- Validate defect fixes and confirm that updates do not introduce regressions or break related functionality.
- Contribute to improving QA processes, workflows, and documentation to support consistent and reliable release cycles.
- Work with engineers to clarify expected behaviors, review acceptance criteria, and provide early quality feedback during planning.
- Participate in release validation cycles and support testing for patches, hotfixes, and maintenance updates.
- Recommend enhancements to testing approaches, tools, and quality assurance practices as the team evolves.

Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in software quality assurance, QA analysis, or software testing within web or mobile application environments.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, defect tracking practices, release cycle processes, and structured test documentation.
- Experience testing responsive web applications, with familiarity testing iOS and Android mobile applications.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret requirements, identify gaps, and translate them into detailed test scenarios.
- Experience conducting regression testing, smoke testing, and manual test case design within a structured QA process.
- Basic understanding of modern software development practices, version control systems such as Git, and Agile workflows.
- Ability to communicate clearly with product owners and engineers, ask clarifying questions, and advocate for quality.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, iterative development environment.
Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred:
- Familiarity with Structured Query Language (SQL) or query tools to validate data and troubleshoot back-end issues.
- Experience using API testing tools such as Postman to validate endpoints and workflow behavior.
- Comfort using browser developer tools to debug user interface issues, inspect network calls, and analyze client-side errors.
- Familiarity with software quality metrics, test automation concepts, or QA tooling.
