Job Overview:

The Technical Sales Manager – East will facilitate the growth the Hisense distributor network by engaging in hands-on sales and problem-solving to introduce new side discharge inverter ducted and ductless HVAC systems, residential packaged systems, and single-phase VRF air and water solutions. This role requires a technical specialist who can actively train distributor TM’s and contractors on Hisense products, services, and programs. The Technical Sales Manager will work closely with distributors, training them on new product technology and ensuring sales pull-through for the achievement of business objectives in the Western region of the United States.

Responsibilities/Duties:

The Technical Sales Manager - East responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop strong working relationships with sales managers and technical teams within independent wholesale distributors within the HVAC market space.
  • Train customers on Hisense brand positioning, technology and best practices for side discharge residential whole home systems, ductless mini-split systems, and single phase VRF systems.
  • Responsible for supporting the achievement of planned residential and light commercial sales, margin dollars, market share through distribution development with assigned accounts
  • Work closely with Hisense Regional Sales Managers, National Accounts Team, Regional Service Managers, and Training Managers to ensure proper support and development of key customers.
  • Coordinate with logistics and service/support teams to ensure adequate systems and parts inventory levels, and assist with processing and expediting customer orders.
  • Coordinate with Hisense Marketing and Programs teams to assist in the implementation of successful promotional, loyalty, and training activities.
  • Work with distributors to create contractor recruitment and training plans to achieve mutual business objectives.
  • Schedule, coordinate and conduct distributor training with emphasis on product quality, technical features and benefits, product support apps (Hi-TECH), and Learning Management System (LMS) leading to stable and profitable growth throughout the distribution chain.
  • Respond to the needs and expectations of assigned distributors directly and indirectly through product support and service teams.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years outside sales, HVAC technical support, and/or HVAC training experience
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Experience working with Independent HVAC distribution within region is preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 30% within the Region
  • Skilled with relationship building and building trust with Distributors and Contractors
  • Expert at in-person and remote presentations with the ability to inspire, persuade, and motivate others
  • Motivated self-starter who can work independently while supporting key business and leadership objectives
  • Demonstrated collaboration with functional departments as necessary (service, training, product, logistics, marketing, etc.)
  • Sales, operational, and strong technical knowledge of residential and light commercial HVAC products and services and the ability to train others
  • Skilled at developing distributor Territory Managers for delivering our value-add product sales message
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of and experience with two-step distribution, as well as the operational practices of residential HVAC contractors
  • Proven experience developing and implementing winning business strategies with important accounts
  • Effective in conflict resolution
