Job Description

The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Wellesley College invites applications for an instructor to teach two sections of Intermediate Korean (KOR 202) in Spring 2026. We seek a skilled language instructor committed to a proficiency-based, communicative approach. This is a temporary, non-renewable appointment.

This instructor will teach intermediate Korean (KOR 202). Other responsibilities include holding office hours and participating in program meetings and essential events.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: MA, preferably in Korean language pedagogy or a related field.
  • Qualifications and Experience: Native or near-native proficiency in Korean and English. Experience teaching Korean as a second language at the university level, particularly in the U.S., is preferred.

Position Information:

  • Teaching Load: 2 courses (0.4 FTE)
  • Term of Appointment: Spring 2026 only
  • Target Start Date: January 20, 2026
  • Minimum Salary: $20,000
