Material Handler

Position Description/Responsibilities:

Responsible for will transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations.

Position Authority:

This position has the authority to maintain and update a checklist of cleaning responsibilities and supplies during shift.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains the productions area with required materials at all times.
  • Provide preventive maintenance to dryers on each material change.
  • Remove all materials not in use in coordination with the warehouse.
  • Packs and report in shifts report all product manufactured during the shift.
  • Verify all materials is in adequate container to be used in the dyers of a specified area.
  • Make requisitions or transfers of all raw materials needed by productions department.
  • Remove and weight scrap (such as: runners, parts, purging, etc.), and reports the same in the shift reports.
  • Keep working area clean and organized.
  • Works together with warehouse personnel to ensure a continuous flow of materials between both warehouses.
  • Maintains machines, hoppers, dryers and scrap containers properly identified.
  • Participate in emergency drills and environmental safety activities, as requested.
  • Attend and participates in trainings
  • Adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support site
  • Lead or participate in Mayor Cleanings

  • Ability to work well with others, follow instructions, and schedule flexibility due to site needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain good customer relations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and use hands to finger, handle or free objects.
  • Use of common hand tools and occasionally sharp tools are involved.
  • Frequently move and/or lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. (Note: All employees must wear company safety glasses while in the manufacturing area).
