Job Summary
Successfully meets the needs of patients and families by delivering excellent patient care, performing diagnostic Radiology imaging procedures in a compassionate and safe manner and in accordance with established practices. Contributes to a positive and collaborative work environment while operating radiographic equipment. Processes quality images, maintains adequate records, assists providers and follows standard radiation and safety procedures.
This position will train in CT, and upon successful completion of CT training, the employee will receive a wage increase accordingly.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is $30.89–$43.61. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver excellent patient care by demonstrating compassion, thoroughly explaining procedures to patients, providing patient comfort, answering patient questions and completing exams in a timely manner
- Prepare patients for Imaging exams by reviewing provider orders and notes, confirming correct exam to be performed, accurately assessing patient’s needs, positioning patient appropriately for exam and providing patient education.
- Perform quality exams by operating applicable Imaging equipment competently including data acquisition, image manipulation and reconstruction, and quality control measures to ensure optimal quality diagnostic images and monitoring patient throughout the exam.
- Maintain accurate patient records by completing correct and timely entries in all electronic health systems (i.e. HIS/RIS, PACS) and department specific programs.
- Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work in a calm manner. Anticipates work to be done and seeks to assist others, maximizing productivity in both patient care and non-patient care departmental tasks.
- Stay current in the field by enhancing personal professional skills and knowledge through CEUs, self-study, research and dialogue, ensuring competency in all assigned exams and ability to easily float to assigned areas.
- Support the organization by performing other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- ARRT (R) - ARRT registration in Radiology or ARRT Registry eligible and completion within 6 months of hire
- Must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program for BLS certification and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).
- Initial Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI) within six months.
- Workplace Violence education in New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment.
- ARRT(R) – ARRT Registration in Radiology and a minimum of one year experience are preferred
Schedule
- 40 hours per 2-week pay period
- Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Evening Shift: 1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Night Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., Overnight Shift: 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- This position will primarily work evening (1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.) and night (3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.) shifts, with overnight coverage every fourth weekend.
