Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Status: Non-exempt / Production

Salary: $21-23/hr.

Shift: 1st Shift Mon - Fri 7AM - 4:30PM

Job Summary: Perform maintenance on mechanical/electrical equipment and on physical plant.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Perform maintenance and repair duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor.
2. Maintain appropriate records as instructed by supervisor.
3. Keep current on preventive maintenance schedules.
4. Perform minor vehicle maintenance, as necessary.
5. Welding duties, as needed.
6. Maintains a clean work area.
7. Assists Supervisor in training functions as directed.
8. Ensures security and proper use of company equipment, tooling, and supplies.
9. Adheres to all safety standards and procedures, and maintains an ongoing

awareness of safety for self and others in assigned work areas.

1. Participates in company sponsored training as required.
2. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
3. Understand how to identify problems and trouble shoot heavy machinery.

Additional Responsibilities: None

Qualifications:

1. Some mechanical maintenance experience. Working with high voltage furnaces, gas quenches, and motors.
2. Must have ability to test fuses, work with hand tools, power tools, and meters.
3. Ability to follow directions and work efficiently. Must communicate well with supervisors and peers to complete work safely.

Working Conditions: Factory environment, may encounter dirt, dust, oil, processing chemicals and varying temperatures. Confined spaces and working outdoors.

Physical Requirements:

1. Lifting up to 75 lbs.
2. Climbing stairs and ladders
3. Considerable amount of walking and bending
