Job Purpose
Job Responsibility/ Specific Skill Set:
1. Operations:
- Effective & uninterrupted operations from the DCS, maintaining high standards of operational discipline & coordination. Monitor production KPIs and initiate corrective actions when required.
- Consistently maintain critical process parameters within operating limits to ensure process safety & product quality:
- Provide timely, safe, and efficient support during scheduled changeovers & plant start-up activities. Ensure adherence to SOPs, enable smooth & stable transitions with zero safety or quality deviations.
- Trend Monitoring: Regularly monitored key process and utility trends; identified anomalies and reported them promptly for corrective action.
- Meet Daily and Monthly Production and other Consumption Ratio targets without deviation.
- MIS Reporting: Prepare and submit Daily, Weekly, Monthly MIS reports accurately & on time, facilitating effective decision-making.
Timely support in scheduled long shut-down activities.
- Minimize plant downtime by avoiding operational errors and responding promptly to process upsets.
- Monitor production status and ensure timely delivery.
- Real-Time Monitoring: Monitor critical quality-related parameters continuously to ensure process stability and compliance.
- Alarms Management - Timely rectification of Critical and Warning Alarms and rationalization of Advisory
- Alarms.
2. Safety and Compliance:
- Conduct scheduled Safety Observation Tours and Process Safety Observation Tours diligently and ensure timely closure of all identified observations.
- Timely reporting of Near Misses, Process Safety Events (PSEs), CCTV-based Observations, Leakages and abnormal conditions as and when identified.
- Timely completion of allotted Safety TNIs, Ask To Learn Courses
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and statutory compliance.
- Conduct regular HAZOP, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
- Developing SOPs, JSA, HAZOP & SMP and periodic review for its upgradation.
- Provide training to employees and contractors (as required) to assure understanding and compliance with Process Safety Standards and requirements of local process safety requirements. (PSM/RMP programs).
- Assist plants in leading Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) for major risk projects by providing expert support in PHA methodologies.
- Provide support for risk scenarios requiring further assessment post PHA review as requested by plants.
- Support PSM Excellence implementation. Identify needs required to comply with PSM requirements.
- Participate in Process Safety Event investigations/root cause analysis to provide guidance to all plants. In conjunction with site management teams, track progress of corrective actions where business wide issues are identified.
- Coordinate Safety Alerts and other company wide initiatives for their respective plants.
- Support Shift In-charge in handling shift team, including Operators and Contract Workers.
- Train Operators on SOPs, emergency response procedures, and safety practices.
- Create an enabling environment to discuss and share people issues, at workplace.
- Identify and facilitate appropriate training of competency gaps with the help of. HR department.
4. Process Optimization:
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing techniques.
- Collaborate with maintenance and technical cell for troubleshooting and innovation.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
- MIS Reporting: Prepare and submit Daily, Weekly, Monthly MIS reports accurately & on time, facilitating effective decision-making.
- Maintain accurate production and safety documentation as per regulatory requirements.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports for senior management.
- Strong knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and chemical plant operations.
- Proficiency in DCS/SCADA systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
6. Change management:
- Lead Continuous improvement culture among team members to deliver excellence in operations.
- Ensure ABG Operational excellence guidelines are adhered by continuous training, implemented and review by using the RADAR framework of ABG.
- Identify opportunities for joint improvement projects among departments, vendors and suppliers through CFTs Project.
7. Regulatory compliance:
- Ensure all the relevant regulatory compliances applicable to the operations are adhered to.
- Participate in periodic regulatory compliance audits from external and internal parties to continuously improve systems
Relationship Area:
- Quality Department - Testing reports for process control as per requirement.
- Electrical & Instrumentation - As per requirement
- Technical Services - As per requirement for MIS, any Technical Help.
- Procurement & Stores - As per requirement.
- HRD/ERD - Training, Development, Rewards, Recognition and Grievance redressal.
