Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a Works Supervisor / Surveillance Officer to work with our client Main Roads WA, located in Albany, on a fixed term contract until June 2026.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Undertake the surveillance of Contract Works.
  • Supervise the Delivery of Works by Direct Management and/or MCW in accordance with the respective technical specifications and scope documentation.
  • Verify that the works are undertaken in accordance with drawings, specifications, quality plans, safety plans, environmental plans and traffic management plans.
  • Supervise the preparation of road building materials in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Identify and assist in implementing improvements to road construction and maintenance processes and techniques to optimise project objectives and targets and report on the outcomes
  • Monitor performance and review construction processes and associated activities across the Network.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Project / Contract Manager (Delivery) with regards to construction delivery; and
  • Supervise daily operations in accordance with the relevant Safety, Health and Wellbeing (SHW) requirements and environmental plans

What you will bring to the team:

  • 3 - 8 years of relevant experience in civil construction and maintenance works
  • Strong understanding of road construction and maintenance practices
  • Ability to interpret and verify compliance with drawings, specifications, safety, environmental, and traffic management plans
  • Basic Worksite Traffic Management
  • White Card - Work Safely in the Construction Industry
  • Strong commitment to Safety, Health and Wellbeing (SHW) requirements

GHD has been appointed by Main Roads Western Australia to deliver a state-wide Operational Asset Management Support Service (AMSS) contract. Under this contract, GHD provides centralised and regional support to assist Main Roads manage and maintain the State Road network.
