Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Operator in a food manufacturing environment. This role involves general labor tasks, production support, and packaging within a food production setting. You will contribute to a hands-on production process, including hand rolling grape leaves with rice filling, cooking falafel, and filling containers with products.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Crown & Toyota sit-down forklifts to move and organize large bulk items.
  • Remove inventory from trucks and deliver it to the appropriate location.
  • Update logs and documentation for inventory processing.
  • Move materials from facilities to workstations, pick-up locations, or other locations.
  • Ensure the workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles.
  • Prepare documentation and inventory for audit.
  • Use a scanner to enter data for transactions and bills of landing.
  • Process inventory for delivery and pick, pack, and ship products.
  • Sort, organize, and store inventory in the proper location.
  • Scan delivered items and ensure quality.
  • Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Prior food manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to consistently lift at least 50-60 lbs repeatedly.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending English.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual abilities in Spanish and English are preferred.
  • Successful reference check and provision of a resume.

Work Environment

The work setting is a food manufacturing production floor with temperatures ranging from 35 to 50 degrees. You will be required to wear non-slip shoes for safety. The warehouse is a smaller facility that demands efficient use of space and teamwork.

This is a Contract position based out of Hayward, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
