Summary Description of Classification: The High School Coordinator assists state, secondary, and postsecondary instructional leadership in the planning and development of career programs of study, including dual, joint, enrollment opportunities to high school students in service delivery area that lead to either an industry recognized credential, postsecondary certificate of credit, diploma or associate’s degree.
Minimum Qualification Standards
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist Executive Director of CTAE with coordinating dual enrollment efforts for GEAR UP cohort students.
2. Process and maintain all dual enrollment records required by the BCSD GEAR UP Partnership Grant.
3. Process/approve requisitions for supplies and equipment purchases, professional leave requests, expense statements, field trips, inventory reports, etc. for dual enrollment related GEAR UP program activities.
4. Participate and assist with preparation and dual enrollment content for GEAR UP advisory board meetings.
5. Work with Executive Director of CTAE, GEAR UP Director, principals, counselors, and higher education expectations in planning, scheduling and implementing CTAE career pathways and courses for GEAR UP cohort students.
6. Serves as liaison with educational, industrial, and community partners to encourage cooperation and partnerships for dual enrollment.
7. Organize field trips to colleges/universities and provide implementation support for GU B4B pathways program.
8. Coordinates with appropriate high school management and college management to finalize dual enrollment and articulation agreements with higher education institutions.
9. Develop yearly dual enrollment calendar and establish and implement a timeline and processes for all tasks related to recruitment, enrollment, retention, and reporting – including dual enrollment application, testing, registration, and enrollment roster due dates.
10. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of CTAE.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: The Coordinator must work with minimal supervision and must provide leadership and support for all Career, Technical and Agricultural Education programs at the school level while working with all individuals in a professional manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, abilities and skills necessary for the position.
Education, Training and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
2. Previous experience as a counselor or administrator in either secondary or post-secondary education required.
3. employment experience in both high school and higher education preferred.
4. Any alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Salary/Terms/Benefits:
This position is grant funded and is contingent on availability of funds.
