Transportation Engineer 3 - Roadway Design, PN 20060768

What you will do:

Engineering Office (Roadway Design): This position will work in the District’s in-house design section and report to the District Roadway Design Engineer. Duties will include engineering review and design tasks such as preparing detailed CADD plans for a range of roadway projects (i.e. pavement maintenance plans, variety of roadway improvements - widening for turn lanes or geometric corrections, culvert linings and replacements, etc.) as well as providing direction to other designers and interns.

Qualifications

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as group or project leader providing work direction & training to engineering technicians &/or lower-level engineers or 12 mos. exp. in conducting engineering related research (i.e., conducting engineering related research only applies to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.

  • Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 2, 85642; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors

Valid Driver's License Required to operate state vehicle.

If this position is filled internally, the wage rate will be determined in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code.

This position has been designated as a Career Professional position per the Ohio Revised Code 5501.20.

All exempt new hires are required to serve a 1-year probationary period.

This position is overtime exempt per FLSA Standards.
