The Clinical Pharmacist III Ambulatory Retail Specialty works in a specialized ambulatory or community pharmacy area. Working under moderate supervision, this role provides patient care in their specialty area, engages with providers, pharmacy staff and may supervise patient advocates and/or pharmacy technicians.
Interprets and follows physician instructions to deliver the correct care to the correct patient.
Provides and monitors drug utilization and medication-related information to healthcare professionals, patients and the public.
Supervises and evaluates pharmacy technicians.
Precepts students and residents.
Functions at a higher knowledge base and competency and spends the majority of time addressing complex situations or works on project improvement initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Required: Doctor of Pharmacy or BSPharm
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 6 years
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required:
Registered Pharmacist in NC within 60 days of hire
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
BCPS or Board Certification in a specialty area
