LOCATION: Facilities and Risk Management

Starting Hourly Rate: $16.86 + per hour, depending upon education and experience, GC

POSITION PURPOSE: Performs a variety of cleaning and maintenance procedures to ensure sanitary conditions are met. Duties will include maintaining hard surface floors, including sweeping, mopping, and refinishing; maintaining carpets, including vacuuming and shampooing; cleaning and maintaining buildings, including emptying waste baskets, dusting, upholstery cleaning, making minor repairs, and replacing light bulbs and tubes; cleaning and disinfecting restrooms; ground maintenance, including cleaning windows, trash collection, and snow removal; event set up and moving services; monitoring building safety and property; and other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

  • custodial and grounds maintenance duties
  • security procedures

Ability to:

  • follow oral and written directions
  • work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • operate required equipment, a variety of motorized vehicles, and hand and power tools
  • perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. or more, physical labor including pulling and pushing
  • establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, interacting in a supportive manner with students, faculty, staff and the public
  • provide excellent customer service

COMMENTS: Work Hours are day shift with some variation. Occasional weekend and holiday work may be required.
