Department: Preventive Maintenance Salary: Commensurate with Experience/Education

Description:

Assists in daily maintenance of the university's fire alarm system.

Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.

1. Assists upper-level technicians in monitoring, inspecting and servicing fire alarm systems.

2. Assist in preventative maintenance on all fire alarm systems.

3. Troubleshoots problems and repairs fire alarm systems, refers complex problems to higher level technicians.

4. Participates in fire alarm testing.

5. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience will be considered in lieu of education.

Education will be considered in lieu of experience.

MQ: Requires specialized training in basic trades, principles, procedures, practice, routines or techniques in a specific area or trade which might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level. Vocational competence in the operation of mechanical or electronic equipment may be required. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly job-related experience
