Role summary:

This position is ideal for mid-level developers to join the Rapid Response team as a Frontend Developer, contributing to the design, development, and optimization of Align Technology’s digital experiences. Partnering with backend engineers, designers, QA specialists, and product teams, you’ll create responsive and engaging customer-facing applications that drive innovation and enhance user satisfaction.

This role is vital in ensuring rapid, high-quality delivery of digital solutions that support Align Technology’s mission of transforming smiles and lives.

Key Responsibilities

Role expectations:

  • Develop new customer-facing web applications using React and Next.js.
  • Build modular, scalable micro-frontends integrated within Align’s digital ecosystem.
  • Improve and maintain existing codebases, focusing on performance, maintainability, and user experience.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with backend developers, designers, QA engineers, and product owners throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Work within an Agile/SCRUM framework: participate in sprint planning, estimations, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to the architecture and design of frontend applications, ensuring scalability and alignment with company standards.
  • Partner with business analysts and product managers to refine requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsive layouts, and accessibility compliance.
  • Continuously research and apply modern frontend technologies and tools to improve team efficiency.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

What we're looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development.
  • Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
  • Additional Skills: Strong understanding of responsive design, UX principles, and modern frontend architecture.
  • Communication: Upper-Intermediate English — able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional Agile teams while also working independently on assigned tasks.

Complementary skills:

  • Experience with Heroku or similar deployment platforms.
  • Familiarity with micro-frontend architecture and modular design.
  • Understanding of UX design and basic design skills.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
