YOUR ROLE

We are seeking an advanced Commissions Analyst to support our global sales compensation and finance operations. This role focuses on data integrity, reporting, and commissions administration while providing essential support to the Commissions Manager.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Commission Support & Inquiry Management
    • Act as a point of contact for routine commission-related questions (e.g., payout explanations, report navigation) and escalate complex or high-risk items to management.
  • Tool Maintenance & Reporting Support
    • Run scheduled updates and assist with report generation using Oracle BI, Looker, Tableau, Anaplan, Salesforce and Forma.ai.
    • Prepare and distribute standardized sales credit reports to the field.
  • Sales Org & Mapping Support
    • Enter and update sales organization structures, mappings, splits, and reassignments under direction of management.
  • Data Validation & Sanity Checks
    • Perform initial reconciliations, data integrity checks, and error validations (commissionable data, HR vs payout file mismatches, attainment anomalies).
    • Flag discrepancies and provide summaries for management review.
  • Commission Calculations (Support Level)
    • Prepare structured SPIFF and incentive calculations under supervision.
    • Validate earnings/attainment drivers (e.g., high/low payout cases, draws applied) prior to final review.
    • Claw-Back & De-Book Identification
    • Identify potential claw-back or de-book scenarios and document findings for manager review and resolution.
  • Payroll & Accrual Support
    • Consolidate regional payroll/accrual files for review, approval, and submission by management.
  • Data Mining & Structured Analysis
    • Pull, combine, and validate data sets across multiple financial systems to support variance analysis and reporting.
  • Documentation & Audit Support
    • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), trackers, and reporting logs to ensure process transparency and audit readiness.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • Finance/business degree or proven track record of sales finance analysis and commissions administration.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s

degree; or equivalent experience.

  • Candidates are required to be detail-oriented, highly analytical, technically strong, and effective communicators.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results, and exhibit the highest standards of integrity and ethics.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including pivot tables, nesting formulas, and lookups, VBA automation a plus.
  • Experience using a commissions system such as Anaplan, Forma.ai, or Xactly is desired.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Salesforce.com, Adaptive Planning would be beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of commission processes, reporting tools, and data integrity checks.
  • Ability to work independently on assignments, exercising sound judgment in methods and techniques.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with ability to build SOPs and reporting trackers.
