This position is a Pay Band C5
PERA is a 401(a) qualified governmental plan that is governed by the New Mexico Public Employees Retirement Act and offers 31 different coverage plans, two tiers of membership and is comprised of 335 participating public employers. PERA's plans currently cover state, municipal and county employees, police, firefighters, judges, magistrates, legislators, and volunteer firefighters.
Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.
This position is responsible for ensuring the appropriate steps are completed for a PERA member to complete the retirement process.

The ideal candidate will have
High School Diploma or Equivalency and three (3) years of direct experience in bookkeeping, retirement processing, benefits administration, and/or auditing. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required experience.
Must possess a driver's license. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
