Quanex is looking for a Day Shift Shipping Technician to join our team located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Shipping Technician is responsible for managing daily shipping and distribution operations. They will ensure that all orders are shipped in a timely manner, and that all products are properly labeled and packaged.

Typical Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2:30 pm-1:00 am.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Gather, review, and sort daily orders by ship date. Prioritize duties with help from Supervisor.
  • Coordinate with all departments to ensure customer orders are shipped in a timely manner.
  • Match product and customer orders to ensure proper quantities and labeling.
  • Prepare UPS/FedEx shipments according to customer requirements.
  • Coordinate and help with routine and exception cycle counting.
  • Assist with inventory activities including cycle counting process.
  • Maintain accurate records of all shipping activities, including tracking information and shipping documentation.
  • Ensure all safety guidelines are followed during the shipping process.
  • Inspect and verify incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Communicate with carriers, customers, and team members about any issues or concerns.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Your Credentials:

  • Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse environment preferred
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and documentation.
  • Ability to operate forklift and other warehouse equipment
  • Ability to life heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems for tracking, inventory, and record keeping

The hourly rate of pay for this position $19.00/hr plus $1.25 shift differential with increases based on forklift certifications.
