Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Job Description

Join a leading global fertilizer company at its Cincinnati location specializing in Industrial Phosphate products, including Phosphoric Acid and Potassium Phosphates. The Analytical Laboratory at this facility ensures product quality, supports operations, and conducts environmental compliance analysis. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an analytical lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Support a safe and clean work environment by adhering to all programs, policies, and instructions.
• Analyze daily production batches of phosphoric acid across multiple product lines.
• Conduct environmental monitoring through process water analysis.
• Record data in a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and generate Certificates of Analysis.
• Operate and calibrate analytical testing equipment such as ICP, Color Meter, Density Meter, Nitrogen Analyzer, and Auto-Titrator.
• Assist the Laboratory Supervisor with product research, process improvements, and method development.
• Work independently on assigned tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in basic laboratory skills such as titrations, weighing, pipetting, diluting, and basic calculations.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and web-based email and internet applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree in science (preferred but not required).
• Experience with ICP, auto-titration, particle size analyzer, color meter, and density meter.

Work Environment

The role offers a small plant feel with a close-knit team and an open-door policy. The lab provides a flexible work schedule with part-time hours of 5 to 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday, starting between 6-7 AM. Full-time hours are available if necessary. Training is provided on-site. The brand-new lab features over $1 million in equipment and technology investments, ensuring a modern and computerized work environment. Candidates will work independently once trained.

This is a Contract position based out of Harrison, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
