Work Location: 99 Freeway & Waterloo
Overview:
Repairs and maintains various types of forklifts including electric and propane powered. Tests forklift trucks to ensure repairs are completed correctly. Schedules and performs routine maintenance on all MHE listed above or (electric jacks, electric reach trucks, electric dock forks).
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Ensure proper maintenance of all material moving equipment including sit down fork, stand up fork, dock
- fork, pallet jacks and sanitation equipment.
- Diagnose problems related to motors, drive brakes, electronic, and hydraulic systems.
- Tear down, repair and reassemble equipment.
- Inspect, remove, and replace defective components and/or parts.
- Perform preventative maintenance programs on equipment.
- Identify and correct minor problems before they develop into a breakdown.
- Use of appropriate power and hand tools.
- Keep accurate records of preventative maintenance and all other work performed.
- Keep accurate records of parts used for inventory control and order with approvals, as required.
- Communicate with supervisor/manager daily regarding changes or problems with equipment.
- Clean work area/warehouse equipment
- Other duties as required by management.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED (preferred) or equivalent related experience
- Valid CDL.
- Must have own hand tools required for applicable areas (complete journeyman toolbox).
- Three to five years of trade school or equivalent material handling equipment maintenance experience.
- Must have electrical knowledge of AC/DC controls,
- Must have knowledge of hydraulics.
- Must have knowledge of welding and power tools.
- Must be able to inspect, repair and operate scissor lifts.
