Postdoctoral Researcher in Immune Oncology (Antibody Therapy)

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Postdoctoral Researcher. This position focuses on developing innovative cancer treatments, particularly within the field of antibody therapy.

The work involves applying molecular engineering strategies to enhance the potency and selectivity of antibodies against solid tumours. With a strong emphasis on translational research.

You will be responsible for setting up and using primary human tumour biopsies (including both liquid and solid tumour biopsies) to allow study of the activity of the therapeutic antibody candidates within clinically relevant human tissues.

Working very closely alongside other postdoctoral scientists within the group, assisting with supervision of more junior members of the research team.

You will Take an active role in driving the project, generating ideas for future experimentation and identifying key drivers of success for the project. Facilitate collection and processing of clinical samples (This includes developing a good working relationship with clinical staff, helping to obtain and appropriately store clinical material and contributing to administrative tasks associated with working with clinical samples)

About you

You will hold a PhD (or be close to completion) in immunology, biotechnology or molecular or cell biology.

You will have experience with one of the more advanced tissue culture techniques (either organoids, spheroids or primary tissue culture), plus have hands-on experience working with whole blood leucocyte cones.

Robust knowledge of molecular engineering and/or immunological techniques and extensive skilled hands-on experience.

Experience in fluorescence or confocal microscopy for visualising molecular interactions or protein expression and a high level of competency with multi-colour flow cytometry.
