Dining Commons

Job Summary

The Temporary employee will support the Dining Commons on the Statesboro Campus as a Food Service Associate.

Temporary employees are employed according to departmental need and the length of time will vary by workload and may not exceed 1300 hours worked in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares food using techniques such as cooking, roasting, baking, and the preparation of skillet meals
  • Participates in daily testing of foods
  • Completes preparation assignments for next day's menu
  • Monitors sanitation practices to ensure compliance with standards and regulations of the Department of Health
  • Serves clients during daily operations, special events and work in other departments/locations as needed
  • Be visible to customers during service to assist with any questions, concerns, or requests
  • Clean equipment and perform other sanitation duties daily and during operational down times
  • Ensure compliance with menus, recipes, production schedules, and quality standards
  • Monitors staff and food levels throughout busy periods to maintain standards, food waste, and ensure the proper amount of prepped food is available to customers
  • Maintains a clean dish room, properly wash, sanitize and sort soiled dishware and restock dish areas
  • Oversees the setup and breakdown of dish room equipment and replacement of all soaps, chemicals, and cleaning products
  • Keeps the dish room organized, free of clutter and maintain equipment and work areas to the Department of Health and ServSafe Standards

Shift Specifics

  • Up to 40 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Sunday - Saturday
    • 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM
    • 1:30 PM -10 PM

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Proposed Salary

$13.25 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
