This role is responsible to lead the Strategic Sourcing , Supply Chain Business Manager responsibilities in Direct Materials Commodity management. As a leader of Supply Chain, you will have an opportunity to work across organization on defining Supply Chain Strategies, developing an organization to leverage highest value, manage operations excellence and driving continues process improvement projects. .

What you’ll do

Responsible for Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Commodity Management within Lam India Supply Chain group, including the following:

  • Lead development and annual updates of 3-year vision, strategy, and organizational structure for assigned commodities. The strategy should enhance competitive differentiation and address commodity availability, quality, and cost
  • Drive execution to this strategy to delivery on committed results to the company, leading activities including but not limited to: Supplier selection, Execution of supplier investment plans, Commercial negotiations, and Risk mitigation.
  • Leads Supplier Management organization for all suppliers under assigned commodity.
  • Develop, train, mentor and inspire a large team of supply chain professionals across a global footprint in both areas of commodity strategy and supplier management.
  • Engage and collaborate with customers and suppliers to manage the relationship on product issue identification, problem resolution and total experience.
  • Identify and anticipate problems and risks within the supply chain in advance and address those issues in advance of and to avoid a critical situation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing in a complex business environment.
  • Define and monitor metrics in line with AOP (annual operating plan) objectives relative to supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement; then drives team to address and close gaps to meet objectives
  • Organization and Talent Development: Work with Global Supply Chain team to develop the organizational capabilities required for future growth and take adequate steps to develop the skill and leadership qualities in the Supply Chain team.

Who we’re looking for

Mandatory Skills & Requirement:

  • Proven ability to gain partnerships and in a cross-functional environment with sourcing, new product introduction, manufacturing, quality as well as procurement, finance, and product support.
  • Prior experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams of Supply Chain Sourcing and other process
  • Experience managing other managers, especially in a matrixed management environment
  • Experience in large industrial company with diversified and globalized supply chain and manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrated skill in decision making and problem solving and experience in making business judgments
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning – setting vision and objectives, creating strategies, forecasting and budgeting
  • Demonstrated experience in talent and organization development
  • Familiar with and uses Quality Principles such as Lean, Six-Sigma, etc

Desirable Skills & Requirement:

  • Some experience with product design and development, engineering principles
  • Experience in capital equipment industry, e.g., semiconductors, medical equipment, construction equipment, etc
  • Proficient in Data Analytics & Presentation Skills
  • Six sigma green belt or above is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 8 - 10 years of related experience and 5+ years in management. An advanced degree preferred.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
