The Office of General Counsel (OGC) provides legal support for all divisions of the Department of Health.
This position provides IPRA compliance and records management support to the Agency.
The Records Clerk position supports the Office of General Counsel by assisting the chief privacy officer and chief records custodian in providing records management support and guidance to Agency staff including assisting with the assessment, classification, indexing, boxing, relocating, and storing or destroying agency records. The position may also assist the chief records officer with gathering, reviewing, and redacting potentially responsive records for records requests, and responding to general IPRA and records related inquirie
The Records Clerk provides records management support to the Office of General Counsel and the Department, including support for the chief privacy officer, and chief records custodian.
The ideal candidate for this position has significant experience working as a clerk, and is familiar with records management laws, regulations and best practices. The ideal candidate is familiar with the Inspection of Public Records Act and the associated deadlines and exemption requirements. The ideal candidate is a good communicator who is highly organized and able to meet deadlines.
High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in office administration, customer service, records management technique and procedures, basic accounting, and/or business administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one year (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Voluntarily carry Department issued cell phone for official use without compensation. Subject to recall during disasters and other emergencies. Work on weekends, holidays and shift work may be required during emergency and/or disaster situations.
