Job Description

We are looking to hire a Senior Corporate Counsel to join our LCR CEEMEA team for the LEGO® Group factory in Nyiregyhaza, Hungary. Bring your legal experience and potential to help craft the future of the LEGO Group!

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as Senior Corporate Counsel for the factory of LEGO Manufacturing Kft. on all legal tasks and departmental administrative work.
  • Provide legal advice to a wide variety of partners, on all issues related to the operation of the factory, including employment law, contract law, construction law, corporate law, corporate governance and real estate issues.
  • Work closely with the Legal Director for onboarding, training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Support the LEGO Group factories and business partners, as well as other Corporate Counsels in the company globally, with drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
  • Create and maintain standard contract templates, policies and guidelines as part of a defined review of cadence.
  • Provide support on any Operations activity the factory on local, regional and global projects.
  • Supporting the factory’s corporate governance agenda approximately two times per year.
  • Provide training or arrange for training to different business units of the LEGO Manufacturing Kft. on relevant legal issues, including Data Privacy, Intellectual Property, Employment, Compliance and Ethics, company policies, as well as preparation for any government visits, audits or possible dawn raids.

LCR CEEMEA drives and supports all legal matters in the factory- covering labor, supply chain, governance, compliance, and corporate issues. We act as the go-to legal contact and occasionally provide support across other regions, keeping our operations smooth and compliant!

Do you have what it takes?

  • Proficiency in English and Hungarian
  • Hungarian Law Degree and Hungarian Bar Exam.
  • Strong legal experience as an in-house counsel or lawyer at a Hungarian or global company/law firm.
  • Proven track record in commercial law matters, contracts, employment law, and compliance matters.
  • Great ability to identify and outline legal issues and to communicate concisely and to build trust with business partners.
  • Business Partner mentality with the ability to make effective presentations and conduct training.
  • Keeping the best interests of the Company at the forefront, and the ability to approach issues from a business and legal point of view
  • An appetite for and ability to learn new skills, as well as the willingness to follow through on tasks.
  • Experience in meeting and working with government authorities.
  • Experience with crisis planning and management of corporate governance matters, Data Privacy, IP issues preferred.

Some travel is expected, likely not to exceed 30 days per year.
