We're looking for a passionate Safety & Wellbeing Specialist to help shape a safer, healthier, and more inclusive workplace across IAG. In this role, you'll provide expert advice and strategic support to leaders and teams, ensuring alignment with our safety policies, frameworks, and legislative requirements.

You’ll lead initiatives that manage psychosocial risks, drive cultural change, and improve performance through proactive risk assessments, incident response, and supplier governance. You'll also play a key role in developing emergency preparedness plans, coaching leaders, and promoting best practice safety standards. This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney).

What You'll Do

  • Provide specialist health, safety, and wellbeing advice, manage escalations, and recommend strategies aligned with the People & Culture service delivery model.
  • Partner with the business to deliver strategic and operational support, including risk management solutions for psychosocial and other workplace risks.
  • Implement and monitor risk controls, conduct audits and inspections, and coach leaders on developing and maintaining risk management and emergency response plans.
  • Lead incident response and post-incident investigations, driving continuous improvement in safety and wellbeing practices.
  • Develop and promote safety and wellbeing programs, support change initiatives, and ensure consistent application of best-practice frameworks across the organisation.
  • Manage supplier governance for safety standards, monitor compliance, and collaborate with internal audit, risk functions, and external providers to improve outcomes.
  • Track and report safety performance metrics, provide data-driven insights, and contribute to strategic planning and delivery of safety and wellbeing initiatives.

What You'll Bring

  • Prior extensive experience in health and safety business partnering within a corporate environment
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and evaluate innovative safety and wellbeing initiatives, including safety management systems and programs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience advising, negotiating, and collaborating across all levels.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading medium to large-scale projects, applying change management principles to support business transformation
  • Confident presenter with experience delivering safety and wellbeing training to large, diverse audiences, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication, time management, and prioritisation skills.
  • Willingness to travel and collaborate with external partners (e.g., RACQ) to shape best-practice approaches
  • Skilled in monitoring safety performance metrics and translating insights into actionable improvements coupled with a strong ability to build relationships and engage with the business
