The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Vice President, U.S. Analytics and Insights, the Senior Director, U.S. Forecasting will provide forecasting strategy, modeling and analytical leadership to guide product strategy and decisions, performance management, and lifecycle planning.

This role leads the design, execution, and refinement of short-term demand and SKU-level forecasts that drive manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial decisions across the oncology portfolio. The Senior Director will also develop and communicate key forecast assumptions and revenue analyses to inform portfolio investment and lifecycle strategies.

As a strategic thought partner, this leader will shape U.S. forecasting frameworks, methodologies, and processes while collaborating closely with Global Forecasting to ensure alignment of models, methodologies and assumptions.

The ideal candidate has deep oncology forecasting experience — including patient flow, treatment pathways, and competitive dynamics — along with strong analytical skills, strategic agility, and comfort with ambiguity. They will pair hands-on technical expertise with leadership excellence, collaborating with a team of forecasters and analysts in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

This position is based at our Redwood City, CA headquarters, with flexibility for remote candidates willing to travel regularly to the office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic insights and forecasts to senior leadership to guide production planning, launch strategy and execution, and portfolio prioritization.
  • Lead oncology short-term demand forecasting across multiple products and indications in the U.S., delivering precise SKU-, dose-, and channel-level projections that inform manufacturing, inventory, and distribution decisions.
  • Build and refine patient-based forecasting models reflecting oncology-specific dynamics such as incidence, biomarkers, treatment lines, duration, and market evolution.
  • Shape U.S. forecasting strategy and infrastructure in partnership with cross-functional business partners, leveraging automation, data pipelines, and model accuracy.
  • Integrate real-world data and competitive intelligence to improve responsiveness to demand shifts, clinical data, and market access changes.
  • Apply deep understanding of oncology markets, disease states, and market access dynamics to develop forward-looking strategic forecasts and business plans.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Finance, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to align assumptions, market insights, and capacity planning.
  • Assist Supply Chain and Manufacturing functions by contributing forecast insights to the development of actionable production and inventory strategies.
  • Conduct rigorous analyses of business opportunities and risks to support clinical development and portfolio investment decisions within 24 months of potential commercialization.
  • Collaborate across Analytics and Insights (Market Research, Commercial Analytics, Competitive Intelligence) and with Clinical Development, Finance, Pharmaceutical Development & Manufacturing, and Portfolio Management to inform late-stage decisions.
  • Align stakeholders on key forecast assumptions, methodologies, and scenarios across the organization.
  • Maintain transparent documentation of forecasting methods, data sources, and assumptions to ensure operational rigor and auditability.
  • Manage vendor partners to deliver high-quality data, models, and analyses.
  • Stay current on Revolution Medicines’ portfolio, competitive positioning, and evolving oncology market trends.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, statistics, or economics required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, MPH, or PhD) strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or strategic consulting roles, including at least 8 years in forecasting, demand planning, or analytics (5+ years focused on oncology).
  • Proven success developing long-range and short-term patient-based forecasts, including SKU-level models supporting manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Deep understanding of oncology market dynamics, including patient journeys, treatment paradigms, competitive landscapes, and key data sources (e.g., IQVIA, other data sources, internal patient services).
  • Demonstrated leadership in building and mentoring high-performing analytics teams within dynamic, growth-stage organizations.
  • Skilled at influencing senior management and cross-functional stakeholders across Commercial, Operations, and R&D.
  • Advanced proficiency in forecasting methodologies (patient-based, time-series, regression, scenario modeling) and analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).
  • Strong problem-solving and vendor management skills with experience leveraging diverse research and analytical partners.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Entrepreneurial, adaptable, and mission-driven, with a passion for improving outcomes for cancer patients.

Preferred Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in patient-based forecasting with focus in Oncology.
  • Experience with targeted oncolytics.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
