As an Associate Accounting Coordinator - Customer Service Support you will provide professional and prompt vendor support to include both internal users/departments and external vendors/customers. Analyze non-trade and employee activity to ensure proper financial reporting of income, expense and accrual information.

• Completes Accounts Payable Service Center (APSC) tasks to include tracking vendor inquiries, facilitating vendor correspondence, and acting as liaison between Valero’s vendors and the Accounts Payable department.
• Provides timely and accurate response to internal and external customers to include vendor inquiries via phone and email.
• Performs vendor account analysis and provides ad hoc reports regarding account status in SAP.
• Researches vendor issues and submits supporting documentation for timely resolution (e.g., research invoice entry and payment issues).
• Conducts and coordinates vendor statement research.
• Invoice validation.
• Processes approved cost items for timely payment.
• Ensures management is updated on recurring vendor issues and suggests appropriate course of action.
• Participate in various projects to improve overall department efficiency and effectiveness.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Accounting Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred Requirements:

• Service center experience preferred.
• 1 year of clerical Accounting experience preferred.
