Role Summary – Sales Specialist, Trading Solutions (Japan)

The Sales Specialist, Trading Solutions is responsible for driving growth of LSEG’s Order and Execution Management Solutions (AlphaDesk and TORA) across JAPAN, with a primary base in Tokyo. This role focuses on acquiring new clients and expanding business opportunities within existing accounts across both buyside and sellside institutions.

The ideal candidate will possess deep domain expertise in order and execution management workflows and the trade lifecycle. For the buyside, this includes fund management, position keeping, compliance, order and execution management, FIX protocol/networks, exchange-traded and OTC securities, market data (real-time and reference), and fund accounting. For the sellside, this includes order workflow automation, algorithmic trading, multi-asset order management, FIX protocol/networks, exchange gateways, and market data.

Success in this role requires a consultative sales approach, strong regional market knowledge, and the ability to position LSEG’s solutions effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive pipeline and gross sales across Japan, maintaining accurate forecasting in Salesforce and internal tools.
  • Structure, negotiate, and close deals in collaboration with account managers, pre-sales, and other internal teams.
  • Develop and execute a regional sales strategy tailored to Japan market dynamics.
  • Deliver impactful presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  • Share LSEG thought leadership and market insights with customers.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, providing feedback to product and business management teams.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Proven sales experience in trading solutions, with a strong track record, especially with buyside hedge funds, asset managers, and/or sellside brokerages.
  • Deep understanding of the trade lifecycle and electronic order flows.
  • Broad knowledge of trading styles (low/high-touch, algorithmic, market making) and asset classes (equities, bonds, futures, options, FX, digital assets).
  • Strong consultative selling skills and ability to build long-term client relationships.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving sales environment with aggressive targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Over 5 years of relevant industry or sales experience.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese.
