Essential Job Duties

The person taking this position will support the rearing of blow flies for research purposes. This will include washing containers that are reused, setting up clean containers, autoclaving waste, preparing artificial diet, performing weekly eyewash and insect trap checks, and carrying out other tasks to support fly rearing as needed and as time permits.

  • Must be able to move water and food, including ground meat, in and out of live fly containers.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Bachelor of Science with a major in a biological science
  • Laboratory experience and familiarity with insects

Required License or Certification

  • Valid driver’s license
