Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Representative IV is responsible for following Federal, State and Local guidelines and works directly with patients and clinical teams for delivery of services to include but is not limited to:
The Representative IV is proficient in the application and systems that may include but not limited to:
Manages room/bed placement for patients admitted through the ER, direct admits, transfers, book admits, and surgery cases.
Performs the Bed Board Specialist essential functions at least 85% of the time. Facilitates transfers from other hospitals to bring patients in-network, HLOC, family/patient requests, continuity of care, etc. The Representative IV has extensive knowledge in all roles of registration for the area they support. Responds appropriately to inquiries and complaints. Troubleshoots and problem solves independently as situations occur. Ensures Front Office equipment functions properly, placing services calls when required. Performs audits of hospital accounts for insurance quality.
Provides feedback to leadership regarding opportunities and goals for the department. Volunteers and assists leadership in special projects. Acts as a resource and provides guidance to new employees, offering assistance and direction to less experienced team members.
