BAE Systems is hiring a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Finance Director leading the US Defense Segment. This role reports directly to the Sr. Director of Electronic Systems FP&A and is responsible for leading the segment level financial efforts, providing oversight and guidance to a team of three finance professionals. Responsibilities include chairing the ES CAS Board of Directors, capital strategy, cash forecasting, balance sheet analysis and insights, working capital and various financial reporting activities. This role will provide leadership to their team and work collaboratively with their functional and business area finance counterparts to ensure partnership on key objectives, continuous improvement, and optimization of the finance function. This role will focus on execution and operational excellence as well as efficient growth of the overall segment, positioning the business for success in critical initiatives, customer satisfaction, talent development, and team building.

This role is intended to be performed in a full-time remote format. However, depending on an individual's preference, they will be allowed to work either hybrid or full-time on-site if desired, provided they're within a commutable distance to an existing BAE Systems ES facility.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • US Defense Segment affordability lead: Serve as the ES CAS Board of Directors chairperson driving cost and expenses discussions that directly impact ES CAS Segment affordability and associated rates.
  • Capital Investment: Partner with Strategy and leadership on capital investment decisions providing financial insights related to affordability. Provide monthly insight into financial reporting and monthly roundtable meetings with capital coordinators. Continue improvement initiatives to streamline the capital process and lead the depreciation forecasting process.
  • Collaboration and Functional Counterparts: Coordinate with internal stakeholders (ex: Business Area’s, Functional Cost Mgmt, Accounting) and subject matter experts to build and sustain best practices and operational excellence in support of the ES CAS and USD segment. Partner with Sector FP&A and business intelligence managers to ensure one cohesive team and collaboration supporting the QBR and IBP process.
  • Metrics, Reporting, and Communication: Establish and maintain standard metrics (KPI’s, Balance Sheet, and working capital analysis), reporting, and communication to support Monthly Management Review (MMR), ensuring timely and accurate information. Supporting both internal (COSA/ Inc Audits) and external (Deloitte) reporting and requests.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and direct a team of Finance professionals, inspiring a high-performing team that embodies BAE Systems' behaviors and cultural principles.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in finance, with a focus on business partnering and collaboration.
  • Proven track record of driving collaboration across teams and improving financial performance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including finance counterparts and subject matter experts
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely across a broad audience
  • Extensive financial business acumen and relevant skillset

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • MBA or Master's in related field preferred
  • Business analytics and systems expertise
  • Experience with balance sheet concepts and HFM

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
