Position Summary

The Bed Control Coordinator manages the flow of admitted patients.

Qualifications

Education/Training

High school diploma or GED required.

Proficient with Bed Board and Sunrise programs.

Licensure/Certification

Maintains heart saver certification.

Experience

One year of experience with the admissions process in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Works collaboratively with administrative supervisors, charge nurses, E.D. Navigator and transportation dispatcher to ensure
  • appropriate and timely patient placement.
  • Will perform continuous surveillance of the patient care units identifying discharges, bed assignments and transfers.
  • Maintains open communication with all units to ensure efficient and appropriate patient throughput.
  • Monitors and maintains Bed Board at all times.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state
  • and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
