A Brief Overview

The Enrollment Coordinator I is responsible for the coordination and support of initial and ongoing enrollment and credentialing processes for hospital and clinic facilities, as well as physician and mid-level providers. This position ensures timely and accurate enrollment with government payers and maintains documentation and data integrity across applicable systems. The Enrollment Coordinator I works closely with the Insurance Manager and Revenue Cycle teams to reduce claims on hold and ensure compliance with federal and state payer requirements.

What you will do

  • Coordinates the initial enrollment and re-enrollment process for providers, including collecting and submitting necessary documentation and applications.
  • Provides support and guidance on enrollment standards, PECOS administration, and ongoing revalidation processes.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations regarding enrollment, and adjusts procedures accordingly.
  • Manages enrollment-related claim holds in accordance with Avera CBO policies and payer requirements.
  • Performs accurate data entry and maintains enrollment records within the credentialing system and internal databases.
  • Maintains and updates records in the NPI registry and furnishes current W-9s as needed.
  • Ensures proper EFT setup for all newly enrolled hospitals or group locations.
  • Serves as a resource to the credentialing team, assisting with government payer requirements.
  • Maintains accurate records of banking relationships for all enrolled entities.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Associate's from a two-year college or technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years Advanced medical or administrative experience and/or training

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's in a related field of health information/healthcare.
