Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace.

The Specialty Sales Director is responsible for driving Specialty Business activities in crucial markets with a focus on high-value and strategic clients.

How you will make an impact:

  • Focuses on strengthening key relationships and driving results. Works in partnership with local leadership and teams to ensure field sales team goals are met.
  • Fosters both internal relationships with important stakeholders and operational components as well as external relationships with clients and producers.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership and contributes to decision-making processes for the implementation of new programs.
  • Builds and conducts a training program in conjunction with the product team for assigned territories.
  • Engages with senior leadership and participates in decision-making processes related to the implementation of new programs.
  • Travels as necessary to meet with prospective clients or other principals.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 10 years experience and a minimum of 5 years within dental, vision, voluntary or healthcare industry; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. Sales license and/or appointment required if mandated by law.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Experience working in the managed care/healthcare insurance industry most notably in specialty sales strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability highly preferred.
  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties strongly preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, and MS Teams highly preferred.
