General Summary

Assists in the operation of the Pulmonary Services Department. Provides medical care to patients. Assists in the review of the quality, adequacy and appropriateness of services within the department.

WellSpan Medical Group seeks full-time Physician, Pulmonologist/Intensivist for its Waynesboro, and Chambersburg Hospital locations as well as its Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine outpatient locations in Franklin County. Individual must be a graduate of accredited school of medicine with Doctor of Medicine plus completion of internal medicine residency training program and fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Must have PA medical license and be Board Certified/Eligible in internal medicine and hospice and palliative medicine. Responsible to treat problems that range from asthma to lung cancer. Spend time in a hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU), helping patients who are in respiratory failure. Treat people who have serious injuries or problems with multiple organ systems. Participate in medical staff activities as required. Document all care in accordance with WellSpan Health’s policies, procedures, and protocols. Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
  • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. Upon Hire Required and
  • Subspecialty Certification in Pulmonary Disease or Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care Medicine. Upon Hire Required and
  • Completion of an Internal Medicine residency. Upon Hire Required and
  • Fellowship in Pulmonary Disease or Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care Medicine. Upon Hire Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Teaching skills.
