Position Summary
The Operations Manager oversees the daily janitorial activities and employees engaged in cleaning and maintaining premises across multiple sites. This role is the central operational force, strictly focused on managing the people and the process to ensure high service standards are met. This position is critical for driving employee satisfaction and retention through exceptional leadership and support, directly impacting long-term client satisfaction. The Operations Manager assigns tasks, inspects work for quality, resolves site-specific operational issues, and reports to the Janitorial Senior Operations Manager. Ultimately, you will ensure impeccable service delivery and operational efficiency while serving as the direct supervisor for the front-line employees.
Work Schedule
This is a Second Shift position, requiring flexibility for occasional morning and weekend availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Retain High-Performing Teams: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all hourly general cleaners. Drive employee satisfaction and retention through effective leadership, scheduling, and motivation.
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Conduct regular, detailed site inspections across multiple sites to guarantee all work meets the highest quality standards. Be prepared to step in and assist staff when necessary to support the team.
- Manage Resources and Equipment: Oversee the purchasing, issuing, and ordering of necessary supplies and equipment. Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and in excellent operating condition.
- Uphold Safety and Compliance: Enforce all safety protocols and conduct site-specific training for new employees to maintain a secure and compliant work environment.
- Administrative and Reporting Duties: Supervise and verify accurate time-keeping records. Provide monthly operational reports to the Account Management team, addressing and resolving all employee and site-specific operational issues.
What You'll Bring
- Experience & Education (Required):
- A minimum of a four-year degree is highly preferred, OR
- 2 to 5 years of proven supervisory/management experience in a service-oriented field.
- A valid Driver’s License is essential.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of the business-to-business service industry, focusing on delivery and service efficiency in a high-volume environment.
- Strong ability to apply common sense understanding and basic principles to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
